Preparing For Graduation

March is already halfway through. It’s hard to believe that time is passing so quickly. For those of you graduating this May, you know more than most how time can be both agonizingly slow and fast. One minute you’re walking campus for the first time, and the next, you’re preparing to walk across the stage. Your school journey is quickly coming to an end. How does it feel? Our team members here at Clear Vision Communications all agreed that this chapter of their lives was both exciting and intimidating. Saying goodbye to the classroom may feel like a weight has been lifted, but entering the “real world” will come with its own set of challenges.

“In the realm of ideas, everything depends on enthusiasm. In the real world, all rests on perseverance.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Our Clear Vision Communications team members know exactly where you’re at mentally, and we want to help you enter this new chapter of your lives feeling confident and sure of yourself. Today, we are sharing three pieces of advice that we believe will give you the extra oomph you need to excel.

There is nothing wrong with asking for help.

We’re sure that your family and friends have been showering you with praise lately. While this may feel great, it can also be stressful. When those you care about are proud of you, it can be difficult to ask for help. Throw those worries away because everyone who came before you needed a leg up, and there’s no shame in that. You may have earned expert status in class, but in reality, you’re at the entry level. Find a mentor in your field of interest, and don’t be afraid to lean on their expertise!

Try new things; it’s exciting.

For years, you have had one goal – to graduate. Now, you get to set new ones! Our advice is to figure out what you want to achieve short-term and long-term. Once you’ve got some ideas written out, branch out of your comfort zone and try new things! It doesn’t matter what your degree is for. This is a time of your life when you get to explore new avenues and discover what you’re passionate about. Think outside of the box, and eventually, you’ll find yourself on the right path, leading you to where you ultimately want to go!

Never stop learning.

Your time in the classroom may be done, but you should never stop learning. In our first tip, we touched on the fact that you should be eager to ask questions. To grow both personally and professionally, you need to constantly be on the lookout for new skills and knowledge to obtain. To land the job of your dreams one day, you will need to stand out, and the only way to do this is to be the most qualified. Take advantage of every opportunity to be more!

May graduates, our Clear Vision Communications family wish you the best as you wrap up your senior year. Your big day is quickly approaching, and we want you to remember that while you may not have everything planned out, it will all fall into place as long as you pursue that which sets your soul on fire!
